Kitchen Swap: When the owners purchased their four-bedroom house in Eastham in 2013, they knew it needed a lot of work. The modified Cape, build in 1971, had an odd layout and looked dated and dark, but the views overlooking Depot Pond were too beautiful to pass up. As part of a nine-month, whole house remodel, the kitchen was renovated - or rather reinvented entirely. At a recommendation, architect Peter McDonald was hired to draw up the plans. |

Outer Cape home has room for busy family
Sited on a cul-de-sac off the beaten path, the location of this Outer Cape house with glimpses of the ocean was an ideal retreat for the homeowners, a family of four. While the location was perfect, there were a few things that needed to be done to the 1950s Cape Cod-style house to comfortably accommodate the active family, their dogs, and frequent guests, says Kelly McGuill, a Walpole-based interior designer and stylist. |

My Houzz: A Summer Beach House Charms and Welcomes
Although its location on the tip of Cape Cod can't be beat, this 1870s beach house was originally a crumbling 1,200-square-foot space with cupboard closets, tiny bedrooms and no fireplace. Kathy Cote and Kim Cromwell were intent on transforming it into a summer home suited for entertaining, and with the help of Peter McDonald Architect and Cape Associates, they were able to double the home's size while still maintaining its historical exterior.
